Staying up-to-date with ongoing Digital marketing trends can sometimes be overwhelming and challenging for beginners and professionals, but unfortunately, we’ve all got to be updated. So no worries, G-MarketingHub will take care of it.

So when looking at the past few statistics reports on internet usage, we find that most businesses switched to work-from-home-based jobs due to the pandemic situation, which eventually opened enormous opportunities for social media usage. As more of us are working from home, there has been a massive spike in social media usage. As these statics were like a wish come true for every digital marketer out there, it turned hard on new businesses as it was difficult for them to adapt to change quickly. So, with great hope, this article reaches those newcomers and digital marketing beginners; we dive into a great topic.

This article on the top four digital marketing trends is structured based on the peak usage of eCommerce and eLearning platforms in 2022, on the information gathered and expressed from the G-MarketingHub perspective.

1. Niche marketing

Niche Marketing: As an old saying goes, “focus on one thing that drives you crazy, and you will shine like a star soon.” For the technical minds out there, niche marketing is all about gathering and sharing information about a specific product or service you love/expert on with the world. The benefit of being a niche marketer is that your community audience will trust you more than anyone. This is because you provide more detailed information than others to your set audiences who are serious about purchasing the product/service. which eventually puts them in the role of an expert who would advise them to take the right decision.

Though Niche marketing sounds cool, becoming one isn’t that easy as it adds more responsibility to one single person or team who is pursuing it. It may take some time to build a decent size community, but if that is achieved, you can’t stop the growth of your community. But as a beginner, you get an opportunity to focus more on content creation, content delivery, and quality of the content to your set audience. This eventually means you know who your targeted audience is, you can build a better relationship with them, and the competition might be (in some cases would be) less.

Now that you have had better knowledge of Niche Marketing, you can decide to proceed further with this strategy and build your community. This strategy is excellent, but being an expert takes time, so make sure you are spacing that time every day. Once you are on track, make sure you create a principle for your brand so that the community can rely on you. If you reach high, make sure you keep that principle in mind, as you could have the opportunity to collaborate with more prominent brands.

2. Video marketing

Quick and short videos became trending due to platforms like TikTok, which made those videos go hugely trending. This helped brands and influencers to reach a comprehensive set of audiences worldwide in seconds every day. When everyday users like you and me started to enter this platform, it became more competitive, which pushed influencers to put more effort into creating creative content to stand out in the crowd. The most common strategy they implemented was the usage of user-generated content in their brand awareness videos, which eventually gave them a boost in reach rapidly.

Once platforms like TikTok were banned in India, it gave multi-use platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube the opportunity to follow the path they walked for success. Each platform created its own type of video add-on to stand out and reach more users. An excellent example to look back on in August 2020 would be the introduction of Instagram reels. These features and add-ons allow many mobile/smartphone content creators to expand their community and enter into the worldwide trending competition. They understood the depth and profit one could make through video marketing and pushed platforms like Pinterest and LinkedIn to shift their focus to optimising their platforms for posting and promoting videos.

I hope this overview and more profound insight gave you a new perspective to look at the video marketing technique and understand its primary motive. If still unclear, the main explanation for video marketing is always and will be to achieve more user engagement worldwide. The more user engagement, the more reach you get, which would lead to more sales and community growth through your brand, influencer, and user-generated content.

My advice: People who want to start their video marketing business is “Just go for it”… Don’t overthink and pressure yourself before keeping the first step. The art of video marketing is always sharing a great story and trying to connect through that with your audience. You don’t need to have any expensive gadgets, scripts, artists, etc., those were the old days. Nowadays you can create content on the go through your smartphone. Like the food you are having in a restaurant? Grab your phone take a video and share your experience with the world, it’s simple as that.

3. Marketing automation

Now, Marketing Automation is a platform where digital marketers can set specific rules to be followed on certain triggers and sit back and relax. For newcomers, “ marketing automation” is like simplifying a complicated process through AI and machine language to make use of time more productively. An example would be post-scheduling platforms like Hootsuite. You upload posts for multiple social media platforms and schedule them to be posted on a particular date within a specific period or on email automation platforms like MailChimp, which could deliver up to two thousand emails in a single click.

When it comes to marketing automation, the main goal is to gain more brand awareness, find new audiences, retarget those who showed interest, and communicate with your community even when you are asleep or busy doing something.

For example, Let’s say you have a blogging website where you write reviews about fashion products. To reach more audiences personally, you create an email subscription pop-up where a few of your readers signed up. Now you can set out an email automation sequence in which every time you publish an article on your website, it will be sent to your signed-up readers. What’s more interesting is that you can customize this automation, something like advanced publish exclusively to the signed up readers, etc.

Marketing Automation doesn’t just stop at post scheduling or email automation; it expands to much bigger areas like chatbots, tracking, reminders, etc.

4. eCommerce platforms

The pandemic has indeed created more opportunities for the new innovators who create unique and modern products just for us. To sell those innovative products, you have two options: a physical store or an online store. Since physical stores cost much higher, every new innovator is into an online store, which brings us to the eCommerce platforms.

eCommerce is sky-rocketing compared to the past decade, and it is expected to achieve more in the upcoming year. Now, this incredible platform can be used by both retailers and affiliates to reach more audiences and fulfil their needs. And a more significant advantage of eCommerce platforms is that they can be integrated with social media to promote and create awareness.

Personal Thought: When it comes to eCommerce what you got to remember is that anyone can start an eCommerce business and start selling online. Though it’s all positive and colorful it has a dark side where it creates greater opportunities for getting scammed. When compared with other marketing strategies I personally feel eCommerce marketing strategy is still not that safe and got more room for improvement.

Conclusion

So, as you have got an overview of the latest digital marketing trends, I hope you can use them according to your business in 2022 to reach higher levels of engagement within your community. An important part to remember is that new trends always appear to take over the old ones, so it is always best to build specific, strong patterns for your business and community to identify you.

In addition to that, I would like to add that whichever market you are going to enter, the main motives are consistently returning to the three famous questions. What? Who? How?

  • What types of content do I love to create?
  • Who would be my viewers?
  • How do I present and attract those audiences?

If you can crack answers to these questions no matter what era of digital marketing trends you are in, you can always find a way to reach your community.
